Charles, a retired man, finds new life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary El Agente Topo. A remake of Mouse Agent (2020). I believe that a lot of fiction naturally aims to make you think, “It was an honor to share the lives of these fictional characters.” This series undeniably achieves that goal well. Even those who come for a mystery they’ve focused less on should be captivated by the humanity that comes through not only in the writing but also in the performances of all the cast members. Kudos to all the departments involved. Although Netflix has been tough on renewing shows lately, I hope they live up to their potential by giving them a season 2, because I hope to see more of these incredible characters on their journeys.
