A series adaptation of James Patterson’s novel about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to play Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which was a box office smash and led Lionsgate to scrap a previously planned sequel, Double Cross. I’m a fan of the Alex Cross books, and I was glad to finally see an actor who could do the job.
Ryan Eggold did not disappoint, playing the role blindly
He plays the character well, with just the right amount of aggression and emotion. He proved just how versatile he can be with The Blacklist and New Amsterdam.
It was gloomy and often made the show difficult to watch
I would have given him a much higher rating if I could see who was on screen at the time. The lighting technician laughed at the dark, moody and atmospheric lighting setup.
I’m not the only one who feels this way
I liked the storyline but didn’t like the insufficient lighting needed to follow the story. I hope there are more series and he reads all the reviews.
