Narrative
Nate Busco has spent 12 of his 17 years running from his past
Tired of being bounced around from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eats corn husks, and uses running practice as an opportunity to shower.
Left alone, he’s haunted by fragments of traumatic memories from his past
By nightfall, he couldn’t be more different from the confident, mischievous character he once had at school.
Enter Stan Dean, a popular high school drama teacher who’s dealing with his own issues
He sees Nate’s hidden talent and need for care and guidance where no other teacher can, and comes to his aid.
But following a shocking event, Nate is arrested in the middle of school and taken to the station in handcuffs
Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only arranges bail, but agrees to take him home, much to the surprise of his fellow teachers.
Stan is willing to do whatever it takes to help his struggling student
But the question is, can you really help someone if you’re not prepared to help yourself?
