The Garvey sisters are bound together by their parents’ deaths and a promise to always protect each other. Sharon Horgan (Eva) is the sister of former Irish rugby player Shane Horgan.

What a nasty piece of work brother-in-law John Paul is (a very effective portrayal by Claes Bang). There’s always one of those nasty, horrible types in the family.

So watching the sisters create and act out Jean Paul’s death is such a pleasure in the most macabre way! The magic is in the relationship between the sisters, which feels so authentic, the way they look at each other and bounce off each other.

The added bonus is the creepy insurance cousins who add to the entertainment value as they try to solve the mysterious case. I haven’t seen the Belgian version, but it looks like this UK remake will hold its own, thanks to the performances, the playful direction, and a script that offers so much after the first two episodes to keep you hooked on this dark comedy thriller.
