Rating – 52: Overall it’s a ‘Booktok’;;;; despite its strong messages about the issues of motherhood
Direction – Pretty Bad: The direction on a macro level is very simple and pleasant, it gives the impression that this movie was made especially for "Booktok" because the book ‘Booktok’ is stupid but they do a bad job of introducing him and showing his importance, because he only seems like a small detail in the whole movie, it’s very clear since he’s a symbol of the main character’s struggle with motherhood and how it’s okay not to be a perfect mother. Screenplay – Pretty Bad: The dialogue is simple, bland and "Booktok" ; The dialogue is so bad that in the first 20 minutes of the movie there is a scene where the main character says “I’m a night bach” literally There is.
At the Austin Film Festival; It’s clear who this movie is for, I’m clearly not the target audience; This has to be the movie that saved Amy Adams without destroying her
; The humor is good, but very forced; The symbolism is deep as the entire film is about the struggles of motherhood and the acceptance that no one is a perfect mother or person; The film is very formulaic acting so there are only foreshadowings: Amy Adams – Good (her performance is good because she’s Amy Adams; there’s nothing to work with), Scoot McNairy – Pretty Good (she has very good chemistry with Adams and does a good job of the one-sided dynamic), The rest of the cast – Decent (most of the background actors are good, mainly supporting Adams) Cinematography – Decent: Simple Editing – Decent: Simple Visual Effects – Slightly Bad: Pretty tacky pacing – The pace is a bit slow as the narrative moves the story along Climax – The climax is a bit forced – The tone is mostly This film was made for “Endnotes” Booktok – Released.
