He’s cute. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. During season 8, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas. His son, David Zayas Jr., takes the place of his father in some shots because the two look so much alike.

During the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later in season 2, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side featureless. Dexter Morgan: I lived in the dark for a long time. Over the years, my eyes adjusted until the darkness became my world and I couldn’t see…

In filmmaking and screenwriting, it’s a good idea to limit the narrative of the characters, to let the actions, conversations, and scenes speak for themselves. I was captivated by Dexter’s character from the start, a dark, introverted person. The strength of the character development was evident, enhanced by the impeccable cast and the interesting crime-filled plot.
Seasons 1 and 2 stood out, earning a commendable 9/10
However, after that, the quality of the show began to decline. The introduction of new characters and excessive drama took their toll on the once classic series. Despite my love for the character, I felt a gradual decline in his charm, including Debra’s. The writing and direction were solid, but Dexter himself took center stage as his portrayal of the darkly humorous remained a prominent aspect.
However, I must emphasize that the first two seasons are a must-watch and not to be missed
His storytelling in all episodes was a unique perspective from which we learned how he experienced things, people, and crimes; it was very captivating. I recommend this series, but I encourage viewers to approach it at their own pace and choose the number of seasons they want to indulge in.
